Medical Technologist II Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist II to join our team at the American Red Cross. As a Medical Technologist II, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of blood products for patients in need.
Key Responsibilities- Consult and communicate with staff at other medical facilities to resolve serologic problems and provide special units to transfusion recipients.
- Manage receipt, coordination, shipment, and transport of patient and donor blood samples, including ordering, receiving, inspecting, and preparing reagents associated with donor product inventory.
- Perform and interpret independent basic and complex donor and/or patient testing procedures and complete required quality control, as appropriate to state and federal regulations.
- May assume lead responsibilities to maintain, edit, and review computer and manual records to assure accurate record keeping.
- May perform internal staff training, competency reviews, and external customer education.
- MT(ASCP) or BB(ASCP) /equivalent, bachelor's degree with major in biological science or chemistry plus 3 years blood banking experience, or MLT (ASCP) certification plus 5 years laboratory experience required.
- MT (ASCP) and/or BB (ASCP) or equivalent desired.
