Position Summary

FSLA: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Chief Engineer/Maintenance Director

The Engineering Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily functions of the maintenance division, guiding the maintenance personnel, and ensuring tasks are completed effectively. Key responsibilities include engaging in the preventative maintenance program, addressing guest inquiries, and executing various skilled trades such as carpentry, painting, and plumbing. The role may also involve operating a shuttle van as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Experience in hospitality or a related sector is preferred.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Certification in a skilled trade (e.g., plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry) is advantageous.
  • A valid driver's license for the state is required.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities are crucial.
  • Capability to perform efficiently under pressure.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks are essential.
  • Understanding and interpreting financial data is important.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively is necessary.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma; technical or vocational training is preferred.
  • Experience in the hotel industry is beneficial but not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset are important.
  • General knowledge of trades such as carpentry, painting, and electrical work is preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Occasional heavy lifting and physical activity may be necessary.
