Child and Adolescent MHSC Consulting Psychiatrist Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Child and Adolescent MHSC Consulting Psychiatrist to join our team at NYC Health + Hospitals/Central Office Administration. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide consulting psychiatry support to primary care teams across various clinics, utilizing the Collaborative Care model to deliver evidence-based treatment to patients.
Responsibilities:- Provide regular caseload consultation to Collaborative Care Clinicians, focusing on patients who are new to the caseload or not improving as expected under current treatment plans.
- Work with Collaborative Care Clinicians to oversee the status and population health of their assigned patient caseload, prioritizing patients for case review and treatment adjustment.
- Recommend treatment adjustments, including medication recommendations and other interventions, through the case review process or ad hoc consultations.
- Document treatment recommendations in the medical record and advise on treatment for patients who may need more intensive or specialized mental health care.
- Be available for ad hoc telephone consultation to medical providers for complex patients or challenging situations.
- Provide direct evaluation and ongoing treatment support for patients with significant diagnostic or therapeutic challenges.
- Develop and deliver in-service training for primary care providers and staff on the Collaborative Care model and workflow management.
- MD or DO from an accredited medical or osteopathy school.
- Completion of ACGME-accredited psychiatry residency program.
- Board certified or eligible in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
- NYS License and DEA Certificate.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
- Experience with Collaborative Care and/or consultation-liaison psychiatry.
- Bilingual Spanish preferred.
We offer a competitive compensation package, including an annual base salary of $247,200 (board eligible) or $257,200 (board certified), with additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours. Our benefits package includes 401(k) company contribution, annual continuing medical education (CME) reimbursement, and generous paid time off.
