About the Opportunity

The Quality Intern will support the North America Corporate Quality functional department at Dawn Foods while working in one of the core manufacturing facilities. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in quality systems, including knowledge of specifications, test methodologies, and analytical reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research on assigned topics and present findings to the team.
  • Collaborate with team members to brainstorm ideas and contribute to problem-solving efforts.
  • Shadow and learn from experienced professionals in the quality field.
  • Actively seek opportunities to learn and develop new skills relevant to your career goals.
  • Identified projects that you will be responsible for:
    • Validation, data trending, and data analysis.
    • Continued specification conversion with different lab equipment.
    • Create, update, and write procedures for in-process testing.
    • Analytical reports.
Requirements
  • Must be a Junior or Senior pursuing a bachelor's degree, with an interest in working in the Consumer Product Goods or Food industry.
  • Strong interest in the industry or field related to the internship.
  • Basic knowledge of relevant concepts, principles, and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with MS office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Able to provide practical analytical solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to perform tests including pH, aw, Viscosity, Brix, texture, particle size, etc.

  • Required to use motor coordination with arm, hand, finger, and leg dexterity.
  • Required to exert physical effort in handling objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Normal setting for this job will be a combination of manufacturing laboratory and production floor environment.
  • Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: Wheat/Gluten, Soy, Milk, and Egg.
  • All PPE requirements are to be worn while inside the Plant (hairnets/safety boots/ smock must be worn).
