Job Title: DB2 Database Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled DB2 Database Manager to join our team at Worldpay. As a key member of our Infrastructure Services organization, you will be responsible for managing our DB2 mainframe z/OS database, overseeing a team of database administrators and engineers, and ensuring the successful delivery of database projects.

About the Role

This leadership role requires a strong technical background in DB2 on mainframe z/OS, database design, development, and administration. You will be responsible for developing and communicating a strategic vision for the organization's DB2 mainframe z/OS database, aligning technology initiatives with business goals and objectives.

You will lead and manage a team of database administrators and engineers, providing guidance, mentoring, and support to ensure the team's success and professional development. You will also oversee the planning, execution, and completion of projects related to DB2z database, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and communicate a strategic vision for the organization's DB2 mainframe z/OS database
  • Lead and manage a team of database administrators and engineers
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of projects related to DB2z database
  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient DB2z database solutions
  • Collaborate with vendors, senior leaders, and service providers to evaluate and procure hardware, software, and services for DB2z database
  • Ensure database compliance with industry regulations, security best practices, and organizational policies
  • Monitor and analyze database performance metrics, identify opportunities for optimization, and implement measures to enhance the efficiency and reliability of database
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Several years of experience in database administration, engineering, or related roles in a global organization
  • Experience managing DB2 on mainframe z/OS, very large scale OLTP and analytical data structures
  • Strong leadership qualities, including the ability to inspire, motivate, and guide a team of IT professionals
  • Experience in team management, mentoring, performance evaluation, and conflict resolution
  • In-depth knowledge of DB2 on mainframe z/OS, database design, development, and administration, storage, and security concepts
  • Hands-on experience with database architecture, design, monitoring, and implementation
  • Experience in project management, including planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and stakeholder communication
