Job Title: Registered Nurse- Lead

Location: Aroostook Health Center-Mars Hill, ME

Job Type: PRN

Hours: As Needed

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse Lead at Northern Light Health is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care to ensure quality and efficiency of services. This role involves managing clinical care assignments, sick calls, and staffing shortages, as well as assessing patient needs and implementing plans of care.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide direct clinical care to skilled and long-term care patients/residents.
  2. Assess patients according to established guidelines and assign appropriate staff based on patient needs and staffing matrix.
  3. Manage sick calls, staffing shortages, and special assignments as needed.
  4. Assess patient physical and psychosocial needs and implement a plan of care to address these needs.
  5. Transcribe and implement physician orders in a timely and efficient manner.
  6. Assess patient/significant other education needs and provide instruction as appropriate.
  7. Participate in department quality improvement activities as needed.
  8. Comply with mandated hospital and department education programs.
  9. Assist in the delivery of programs as requested.
  10. Assist with orientation of new employees, including evaluation of competency and orientation checklists.
  11. Accept responsibility for professional growth and development.
  12. Support Risk Management and Infection Control programs.
  13. Demonstrate a commitment to the philosophy and objectives of Northern Light Health.
  14. Provide care to patients, including assessments, medication passes, and daily care based on patient needs.
  15. Maintain a safe environment, complying with Northern Light Health policies and procedures.
  16. Support and evaluate emergency preparedness drills while on duty.
  17. Participate in recruitment of new staff, including performing interviews as requested.
