Position: Lead Pastry Cook

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute production directives and adhere to portioning standards.
  • Craft a variety of desserts and pastries for breakfast and lunch services.
  • Follow recipes meticulously to meet production timelines.
  • Conduct taste tests to ensure flavor, freshness, and quality.
  • Present and arrange desserts as instructed by the Pastry Sous Chef.
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of pastries.
  • Monitor the dessert line for efficiency during service.
  • Assist in stocking and organizing the work station.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the preparation area.
  • Ensure proper storage and rotation of ingredients.
  • Exemplify a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Collaborate with the Pastry Sous Chef to optimize baking quantities and reduce waste.
  • Maintain kitchen equipment and report any issues to the Pastry Sous Chef.
  • Comply with safety and sanitation regulations as per OSHA and health department standards.
  • Attend all scheduled shifts, training sessions, and team meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Active Food Handler's Certificate is required.
  • Professional appearance with clean uniforms and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Basic knowledge of food handling and sanitation practices is essential.
  • Authorization to work in the United States is mandatory.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical stamina is necessary, including standing, walking, and occasional heavy lifting.
  • Visual acuity to adapt to various visual tasks.
