Our thriving organization is in search of a Financial Operations Manager who will oversee the general ledger team and the month-end closing procedures, collaborating closely with our Director of Accounting & VP of Accounting to fulfill corporate objectives.

This position can be based in our Boca Headquarters or in the NYC vicinity.

As a prominent leader within the organization, your responsibilities will vary daily as a Financial Operations Manager. You are an exceptionally detail-oriented professional who will manage a variety of accounting functions to guarantee adherence to generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies, and external audits. Beyond managing the monthly closing process, the Financial Operations Manager will also enhance processes and spearhead the initiative to achieve a 5-day close.

As a team leader, you possess strong managerial skills and enjoy the dual role of a player/coach to foster the growth and success of your team. Your robust operational and technical accounting expertise enables you to work proactively to drive outcomes. A self-motivated individual, you take initiative, demonstrate flexibility, uphold a high level of integrity, and are focused on achieving goals. You thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the monthly financial closing process for the US, ensuring all costs and expenses are accurately recorded, reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement analyses.
  • Engage in the continuous development and establishment of accounting policies, procedures, controls, and operational strategies, including the review and implementation of process and system modifications.
  • Promote solutions to enhance system efficiencies and business practices.
  • Collaborate with all levels of the organization and with budget owners or other stakeholders to generate timely and precise financial reports.
  • Draft technical accounting memorandums as necessary.
  • Examine material contracts for financial reporting and accounting treatment.
  • Create detailed journal entries and account analyses.
  • Lead various ad-hoc projects to support the company's annual objectives.
  • Coordinate with tax and accounting firms as required to navigate complex issues, facilitate timely audits, and ensure compliance.
  • Manage specific ERP enhancement initiatives to ensure the accounting technical stack remains advanced and innovative.
  • Assist in the preparation and execution of treasury functions.
Qualifications:
  • BA/BS/MS in Accounting.
  • A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
  • CPA certification is mandatory, with public accounting experience preferred.
  • A minimum of 4+ years of management-level experience leading a team of accounting professionals.
  • Proven success in overseeing and managing a monthly close.
  • Prior experience in leading and mentoring high-performance senior accountants.
  • Experience with purchase accounting and the integration of acquired companies is advantageous.
  • Ability to draft and update technical memoranda.
  • Knowledge of GAAP, with experience in ASC 606 Revenue Recognition, ASC 842 Leases, and ASC 350 regarding Internally Developed Software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills required.
  • Experience with analytical and reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with reconciliation software.
  • Experience using an enterprise-level accounting system (Microsoft D365 experience is a plus, as is implementation experience).
