At OrthoCarolina, we are committed to providing exceptional patient care and compassionate service. We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team in our OrthoCarolina Matthews Orthopedic Urgent Care.
Job Summary:We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Radiology Technologist to provide diagnostic quality radiographs for physicians and/or physician assistants. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in radiologic procedures and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:- Provide diagnostic quality radiographs for physicians and/or physician assistants
- Protect employees and patients from unnecessary radiation and usage of appropriate protection standards
- Demonstrate competency in positioning of all radiological procedures as prescribed by departmental policy
- Communicate with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, confirm acknowledgment of patients' understanding and address any questions or concerns
- Position patients and select exposure factors for various radiologic examinations and provide patient with radiation protection and safety in accordance with prescribed methods
- Clean and make minor adjustments to radiology equipment and ensure equipment is in working order and report equipment malfunctions to Radiology Manager or designee
- Prepare copies of x-ray films/CD's for patients, tests, surgery and physicians as required
- Log radiological procedures completed, process charges and related paperwork using computer equipment as directed
- Maintain cleanliness of examination rooms and stock necessary medical and/or radiological supplies in the department
- Comply with all OrthoCarolina policy and procedures
- Assist with the transportation of patients between the examination module(s) and the Radiology department
- Assist with patient flow in the examination module(s) as directed by a supervisor
- Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the American Medical Association
- Minimum of one year experience as an x-ray tech with an orthopedic background
- Registered Radiology Tech by American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (AART) or ARRT registry eligible
- Current CPR certification recommended
- Ability to operate various manufacturer types of Radiology suite equipment
- Skill in proficient use of various manufacturer types of Digital Radiology (DR) and Computer Radiology (CR) reader systems
- Skill in identifying equipment problems and correcting or notifying supervisor
- Skill in positioning patients properly and performing quality diagnostic radiographs
