Job Summary

Friendship Preschool is seeking a part-time assistant teacher to work alongside a lead teacher for children aged 3-5. Our teachers are passionate about early childhood education and dedicated to the growth and development of children and their families, as well as their own professional growth. We are inspired by loose parts theory, schema play, nature, and are child-focused. At Friendship, we reserve Mondays for staff and classes meet Tuesday through Friday mornings. We offer up to 15 hours of professional development each school year, tailored to our needs and during work hours, and follow our local school district calendar, so when the public schools are off, so are we, including summers.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the lead teacher with the educational curriculum, environmental plan, and care for a group of children.
  • Take direction from the lead teacher and assist with all duties of running a classroom.
  • Assume responsibility for and supervision of a group of children.
  • Assume responsibility of the classroom in the absence of the lead teacher.
Requirements
  • Must have experience working with preschoolers in an early childhood learning environment.
  • Minimum of CDA or enrolled in a college education program.
  • 2-4 year degree in early childhood or related field preferred.
  • Must meet the requirements set forth by Ohio.
