Adecco is hiring for 2nd shift Maintenance Mechanics in Ayer, MA. These are direct hire positions with full benefits included.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in Ayer, MA. As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring the smooth operation of our production lines.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and lubricating equipment, inspecting equipment operating conditions, and identifying root causes of equipment issues.
  • Troubleshoot electrical components and wiring diagrams, and disassemble and reassemble equipment as needed.
  • Repair and replace worn-out parts, and ensure the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.
  • Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Remove defective parts by dismantling devices, using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools, and examining form and texture of parts.
  • Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
  • Control, reduce, or eliminate downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
  • Fabricate repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
  • Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies, placing and expediting orders, and verifying receipt.
  • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
  • Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, computer classes, and lessons, reviewing technical publications, establishing personal networks.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years maintenance mechanic experience.
  • Maintenance mechanic experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Maintenance mechanic experience in a food manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Knowledge of maintenance terminology, GMP, OSHA, FIFO, SPL, and PM.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be highly motivated and responsible, and work well within a team environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging, and consistently changing environment.
  • Ability to think independently, as well as consistently collaborate and communicate with management.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and lift. The employee is required to stand and walk at minimum 70% of the time.
  • The employee must be able to work 8-hour shifts.
  • The employees must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds.
  • The employee must be able to squat or kneel and to bend on a frequent basis.
  • The employee must be able to work in a cold and hot environment.
  • The employee must be able to climb steps on a frequent basis.
  • The employee must be able to use an elevated platform/lift to reach raised work areas or equipment failures.

Work Environment:

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
