As a Per Diem Licensed Practical Nurse at HSS, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support in our orthopedic and rheumatology departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care.
- Escort patients to exam rooms, prepare them for examinations, and review patient statuses.
- Obtain PCR nasal swabs for pre-surgical patients and support the Pre-Surgical Screening program.
- Prepare specimens for the lab and ensure hand-off to courier.
- Foster efficient patient throughput, deliver excellent customer service, and maintain a professional environment.
- Assist physicians in treatments and procedures, ensuring timely completion of orders.
- Demonstrate proficiency in cast removal, suture and staple removal, and application of off-the-shelf braces.
- Maintain sensitivity and awareness of cultural and religious diversity when interacting with patients, visitors, and colleagues.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing.
- Current NY State LPN license and registration.
- BLS certification.
