Key Responsibilities- Client Communication: Provide timely updates on patient status, offer guidance on home care and medication administration, and address client medical inquiries with confidence.
- Client Education & Support: Educate clients on preventative medicine, wellness care, and laboratory procedures, and support hospital financial policies by preparing estimates and discussing financial commitments.
- Customer Service: Greet clients, escort them and their pets into exam rooms, ensure smooth transitions to the front desk, and promote the practice's products and services.
- Animal Handling & Care: Safely restrain animals, assist veterinarians in medical and surgical procedures, prepare patients for surgery, administer anesthesia, and monitor patients during recovery.
- Facility & Equipment Maintenance: Properly care for surgical materials, maintain hospital equipment and inventory, and ensure the surgery room, ICU area, and treatment areas are prepared and maintained.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using a paperless medical record system.
- Pharmacy Assistance: Assist with dispensing medications as directed by the veterinarian, prepare prescription labels, and package medication.
- Safety & Technical Skills: Follow DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines, administer injections, perform laboratory tests and radiographs, and perform emergency treatments.
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) certification.
- Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
- Knowledgeable about common disease states and able to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
- Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.
Caring Hands Animal Hospitals are large, well-equipped, AAHA-accredited facilities. We offer convenient hours six days a week and have an open-door policy to provide excellent service to our clients. Our full-service hospitals offer state-of-the-art care for our patients, including computerized patient records, digital radiography, and in-house laboratory.
