Nurse Manager Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as an Assistant Nurse Manager at Christiana Hospital. This is a full-time position that requires flexibility to work day, evening, and night shifts, as well as weekends and holidays.
About the RoleThe Assistant Nurse Manager will assist the Nurse Manager in the overall administrative direction for the clinical practice of nursing and the delivery of high-quality and cost-effective care to all patients. This includes sharing 24-hour responsibility and accountability for all aspects of daily operations in both units with the Nurse Manager and other Assistant Nurse Managers.

- Share 24-hour responsibility and accountability for all aspects of daily operations in both units with the Nurse Manager and other Assistant Nurse Managers.
- Directly supervise nursing and technical personnel, including assessing proficiency, overseeing daily staffing and scheduling needs, evaluating staff performance, and counseling staff members when performance issues are identified.
- Participate in all hiring, promotion, salary adjustment, and termination decisions.
- Function as a highly transparent role model, demonstrating quality expertise and professional behaviors that support professional development of staff and the strategic goals of ChristianaCare.
- Identify and develop strategies to improve the overall knowledge base and professionalism of staff.
- Direct, mentor, and support all levels of staff on the floor, including identifying potential future leaders and engaging in succession planning.
- Analyze administrative and operational functions, implement appropriate changes, and system-wide improvements.
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Nursing required; Master's required within 3 years.
- RN required; progressive/intermediate or intensive care experience preferred.
- 5 years of appropriate clinical and leadership experience.
- BLS required; ACLS preferred.
- Current Certification required.
