The Pharmacy Technician plays a crucial role in assisting the pharmacist to deliver safe and effective pharmacy services to patients, adhering to the policies and procedures of Rose International, as well as state and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Process and manage new and refill prescription orders while ensuring adherence to productivity and quality benchmarks.
- Accurately fill patient prescriptions by selecting the correct medications, verifying quantities, and preparing medication labels.
- Collaborate with pharmacists for order verification and clarification as necessary.
- Input data into the pharmacy management system to generate required documentation.
- Choose appropriate supplies and ancillary items based on medication needs and patient preferences.
- Communicate with patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers to obtain refill authorizations and necessary information for patient profiles.
- Handle pharmacy claims processing, troubleshoot claim rejections, and liaise with insurance providers as needed.
- Assist in inventory management and product procurement as required.
- Ensure that client-specific materials are correctly paired with orders and prepared for dispatch.
- Support the shipping process by selecting suitable packing materials and generating shipping labels.
- Maintain cleanliness in the dispensing area and replenish supplies before the end of the shift.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to both patients and internal stakeholders.
Experience: 3 to 5 years in a pharmacy setting.
Skills:
- Proficient understanding of pharmaceutical terminology and specialty pharmacy services.
- Ability to perform intermediate pharmaceutical calculations for accurate medication dosing.
- Knowledge of the organizational structure and services offered by the company.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Participation in the management and reporting of medication-related incidents.
- Completion of quality assurance documentation as required.
High School Diploma or GED is required.
