Role Overview:
Every day, the donors you interact with will inspire you. The high-quality plasma you collect will be transformed into life-saving therapies. Here, a dedication to customer service and excellence is paramount. You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will function as a plasma donor screener while performing phlebotomy to facilitate plasma center operations.
Your Contributions:
· You will warmly welcome donors as they arrive and depart from the donation area.
· You will conduct venipuncture on donors and operate the plasmapheresis machine.
· You will monitor donors throughout the donation process and address any donor reactions.
· You will execute all necessary tasks for the setup, verification, operation, and troubleshooting of plasmapheresis equipment within your training scope.
· You will install, prime, and disconnect disposable sets on the plasmapheresis machines.
· You will maintain inventory, break down empty cartons, and assist with proper disposal.
· You will measure and document donor pulse, blood pressure, and temperature, while overseeing the electronic donor questionnaire system.
· You will perform finger sticks, test samples, and record other donor metrics, including hematocrit, total protein, and weight.
· You will input donor information into the Donor Information System (DIS).
· You will coordinate donor flow on the donation floor and manage donor compensation using the Debit Card system.
· You will assist the center management team in identifying operational improvements, initiating changes to center processes through company-approved procedures, including 5S, Value Stream Mapping, and Kaizen.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Ability to walk and/or stand for the duration of the work shift.
· Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
· Capability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above shoulders and below knees.
· Ability to lift up to 5 lbs., with occasional lifting of materials up to 32 lbs. and rarely 50 lbs.
· Fine motor skills, depth perception, and the ability to hear equipment from a distance.
· Due to potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens (risk level 1), 90% of work tasks require prolonged glove wear.
· A minimum of 1 year of experience in a customer or patient-facing role is advantageous.
