Weekend Life Skills Professional

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Weekend Life Skills Professional to join our team at the Pennsylvania Institute for Community Living (PICL). In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting individuals as they develop essential life skills and achieve their recovery goals.

Program Summary

The PICL is a 15-bed residential program that provides integrated self-help, recovery-oriented treatment, and psychiatric rehabilitation. Our comprehensive approach focuses on empowering residents to live independently and lead fulfilling lives.

Position Summary

As a Weekend Life Skills Professional, you will work collaboratively with participants to enhance their daily living skills, social interactions, and vocational abilities. You will provide guidance, support, and encouragement as they navigate the challenges of recovery and strive towards personal growth.

Essential Duties and Functions
  • Assist participants in developing essential life skills such as cooking, budgeting, household management, and interpersonal communication.
  • Assess individual strengths and needs to tailor support and interventions effectively.
  • Facilitate social activities and recreational opportunities to promote positive relationships and community engagement.
  • Provide guidance on accessing community resources and navigating essential services.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of participant progress, observations, and interventions.
  • Collaborate with the program team to ensure a holistic and supportive environment for residents.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of experience in the social service field preferred.
  • Valid driver's license.
