Job Summary

The Assistant Director of Nursing for Community Health Centers is a key leadership position responsible for the daily operations of the nursing department at Harbor Health's community health centers. This role reports to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and SVP of the Community Health Centers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit, develop, and retain qualified nursing staff to support Harbor Health's infrastructure and patient-centered medical home initiatives.
  • Collaborate with health center managers and clinical teams to implement operational improvements and resolve departmental issues.
  • Develop and implement competency and training programs for nursing staff.
  • Provide professional support, training, and development to nursing staff, standardizing practices across all health centers.
  • Develop a per diem nursing pool trained to work at all HHSI Health Centers.
  • Assist in the development and revision of policies and procedures.
  • Identify and develop departmental quality measures and health plan goals and objectives.
  • Manage grant contracts, programs, and expenditures as appropriate.
  • Foster inter-departmental and inter-health center communication around patients, operations, policies, and initiatives.
Requirements
  • Current Massachusetts Nursing License from an Accredited School of Nursing.
  • BSN and 3 Years of nursing experience or MSN required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in clinical nursing and 1 year of experience in case management.
  • 2 years of supervisory or administrative experience.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook, experience working with EPIC/OCHIN EMR highly desired.
  • Ambulatory nursing experience preferred.
