About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at South Texas Health System Clinics. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals in delivering exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with daily clerical operations, including answering phone calls and managing patient records.
  • Accurately file patient charts and maintain accurate records.
  • Schedule patient appointments and coordinate with specialists as needed.
  • Pre-authorize prescriptions and clinical tests as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical Assistant certificate required or must obtain certification within six (6) months of employment.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification required.
  • Medical Assistant Certificate of Completion and/or one year experience as a Medical Assistant.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology required.
  • Experience with patient check-in and check-out process (according to clinic protocol).
