Position Summary
This role entails supervising the performance quality of team members. Responsibilities include assisting with the recruitment, hiring, counseling, disciplinary actions, and performance evaluations in accordance with healthcare organization standards. You will also play a crucial role in training new staff and enhancing the skills of existing team members. This position ensures adequate staffing and addresses scheduling challenges. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and maintaining sufficient food supplies to execute planned menus. Responsibilities also include writing, testing, and implementing new and standardized recipes while adhering to established guidelines. You will provide guidance on food presentation, taste, and sanitation standards.
Conducting meetings and performing necessary follow-ups is essential. This role requires effective leadership and management capabilities, along with strong listening and communication skills to interact with staff, families, and students. You will delegate tasks and manage conflicts effectively, demonstrating the ability to adapt to changing work demands while maintaining composure under pressure. Supervising staff to ensure accountability for tasks and productivity is a key aspect of this role. Collaboration and turning challenging interactions into productive outcomes are essential skills.
Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques is crucial, along with the ability to foster an environment that meets the organization's quality objectives.
Proficiency with basic office equipment and computer systems is required.Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A minimum of two years of experience in the food service or food production industry is required.
- CDM (Certified Dietary Manager) certification, accredited by the Association of Nutrition and Foodservice Professionals, or a registered dietitian certification is preferred. Some departments may require CDM certification within two years of employment.
- Depending on certifications, passing the Serve Safe certification within a year of hire may be necessary.
