Cardiology Faculty Position at Augusta University

The Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University is seeking a highly qualified faculty member to join our team as a cardiologist. The successful candidate will be responsible for staffing our newly constructed multidisciplinary Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit and participating in both inpatient and outpatient services within the division.
Opportunities to engage in echocardiography and other aspects of non-invasive imaging are available to the extent desired. The candidate will also have the opportunity to work with house staff, fellows, and physician extenders.
The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit will be a combined medical/surgical unit and will accommodate our expanding heart failure/shock program, which includes ECMO and mechanical assist components.
Candidates with various types of discipline training backgrounds are welcome to apply. The required qualifications for this position include a MD/DO degree and cardiology fellowship, as well as experience as a faculty member with appropriate postgraduate training.
For the rank of Associate Professor, at least five years of experience as an Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience are required.
The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned. Desirable personal qualities will be judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time. Salary and compensation are commensurate with education, experience, and achievements.

Advancement through the faculty ranks at Augusta University is only through the annual Promotion and Tenure process in which faculty may apply if eligible (typically five-year increments).

The Medical College of Georgia is one of the nation's largest medical schools by class size, with 260 students per class.
