Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Para Professional to join our team at Gwinnett County Public Schools. As a Para Professional - Severe Level I Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting the instructional program within an assigned classroom.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the supervision, care, and instruction of special needs students in the regular education classroom and special education classroom.
  • Provide support to teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
  • Monitor student behavior and provide positive reinforcement techniques to promote social and emotional growth.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Assist with data collection and progress monitoring to inform instruction and make data-driven decisions.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Experience working with special needs students and knowledge of behavior intervention strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
