Job Summary

Confluence Health is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing routine diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare patients and operate fluoroscopic, x-ray room, and x-ray portable equipment while adhering to department protocols and radiation safety guidelines.
  2. Assist radiologists in fluoroscopic procedures and perform minor fluoroscopic procedures under their direction.
  3. Inject contrast material and/or medication under the direction of a physician.
  4. Set up sterile medical surgical equipment according to standards and procedure.
  5. Assist in emergency situations under the direction of a physician or RN.
  6. Review and evaluate diagnostic images for technical quality.
  7. Verify patient information and exams performed, updating and changing exam descriptions as necessary.
  8. Participate in the training and orientation of new X-ray Technicians and Radiologic Technologists.
  9. Utilize PACS, RIS, and current EMR efficiently and complete required paperwork for each examination performed.
  10. Maintain the cleanliness of x-ray equipment and associated minor equipment in accordance with infection control policies and procedures.
  11. Comply with all continuing education requirements as dictated by regulatory entities.
  12. Attend department meetings and participate in all annual required training and in-service training.
  13. Participate in Quality Improvement Programs.
  14. Comply with As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) principles, Image Gently principles, and Image Wisely pledge.
  15. Understand principles of correct body mechanics and apply them in assisting patients during transfer, lifting, and ambulation.
  16. Required to maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree in Radiologic Technology from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
  • Washington State Certification as Radiologic Technologist (RT) license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous radiology experience in a hospital setting.
  • One-year clinical experience in diagnostic radiology and fluoroscopy.
  • Certification or registry in any other diagnostic imaging field.
