Custodian - Chamberlain Elementary

The Goshen Community Schools is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at Chamberlain Elementary. As a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our school facilities, ensuring a healthy and productive learning environment for our students and staff.

• Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean and maintain all areas of the school, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas.
• Grounds Maintenance: Maintain the appearance and safety of the school grounds, including sweeping debris, shoveling snow, cutting grass, and trimming trees and shrubs.
• Equipment Maintenance: Perform minor maintenance tasks on school equipment, including changing light bulbs, replacing vacuum cleaner belts, and unstopping toilets and water fountains.
• Security: Ensure building security by locking and unlocking doors, checking for unauthorized persons, and calling security as needed.
• Supply Management: Load and unload supplies and equipment, and move furniture as required.

• Age: Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Experience: Three years' experience in maintenance or custodial work is preferred.

• Lifting Ability: Ability to regularly lift a minimum of 25 pounds and up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift heavier weights.
• Communication Skills: Ability to interact with staff, students, and community in a professional and courteous manner.

This is a 36-week position, working 15 hours per week, from 11:00am to 2:00pm. The salary range is $16.00-$17.05 per hour, depending on education and experience.
