We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Nursing Assistant IV to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our recovery team, you will provide advanced rehabilitative patient care services under the supervision of a registered Nurse. Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate emergency, health, and personal care services to patients, ensuring they receive the highest quality care.
Job Responsibilities:- Provide quality psychiatric nursing care to patients in an inpatient setting, coordinating emergency, health, and personal care services as needed.
- Act as a team lead, instructing staff on hospital and program procedures and policies, and providing guidance on patient care techniques.
- Develop and implement individualized recovery plans, working closely with patients to achieve their treatment goals.
- Monitor patient behavior, progress, and lack thereof, documenting and communicating this information to the recovery team.
- Participate in shift reporting, recovery team meetings, and meetings with admissions staff to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Knowledge and experience in CAPPS, CARE, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- Knowledge of patient aggression reduction interventions.
- Knowledge of effective interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to interact with team members effectively.
- Ability to prepare and maintain records, files, and reports.
- Ability to serve as a lead worker, providing direction to others.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English to effectively communicate and carry out verbal and written instructions.
- Previous experience in a psychiatric nursing setting.
- Knowledge of treatment, therapy, developmental, and patient-centered recovery programs.
