Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Paramedic to join our Emergency Department team at Arkansas Children's Hospital. As a Paramedic, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care to patients in the Emergency Department, utilizing a patient and family-centered model of care.
  • Work under the direction of the Emergency Department Medical Director to evaluate and treat patients, including selected invasive and non-invasive procedures, treatments, and documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with ED physicians and registered nurses regarding patient status, symptomatology, and diagnostic study results.
  • Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
  • Provide care that meets the psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care, prioritizing patient needs and factors influencing patient flow.
  • Initiate interventions and diagnostic procedures, maintaining septic/sterile technique as appropriate.
  • Transport patients to and from vehicles, ancillary departments, and inpatient rooms.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Certificate from a college program or technical school, or high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians - Paramedic (NREMT-Paramedic) certification.
