Sterilization Technician Job Description

At Southern Oral and Facial Surgery, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sterilization Technician to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect and process used and contaminated equipment, instruments, and supplies for decontamination and sterilization.
  • Operate and maintain decontamination equipment to ensure proper cleaning and sanitizing of supplies.
  • Prepare and package decontaminated supplies for sterilization, and examine them meticulously to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Routinely test and report any issues or problems with sterilization equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Sterilize, prepare, wrap, and organize equipment into instrument trays for use during medical procedures.
  • Prepare and deliver all necessary equipment and instruments for procedures, and maintain accurate records of sterilization procedures and inventory.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of relevant experience preferred, with certification in Sterile Processing and Distribution a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, good judgment, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to work well in a team or individually.
