Job Title: Licensed Optician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Optician to join our team at EssilorLuxottica. As a key member of our optical team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient experiences through the selection, measurement, ordering, and fitting of eyewear. Your expertise will play a crucial role in establishing our practice as the premier destination for all vision needs within the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Custom fit glasses and precisely place prescriptions in lenses.
  • Act as a leader in optical acumen, providing guidance and support to peers.
  • Take and record measurements, adjust or fit eyewear correctly, ensuring finished products meet standards and patient requirements.
  • Explore patient needs and priorities by asking open-ended questions.
  • Assist peers with complex areas of product needs and prescriptions.
  • Anticipate problems, explore underlying reasons, and develop long-term solutions to ensure patient satisfaction and expectations are exceeded.
  • Operate the point-of-sale system, inputting patient information with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Commit to delivery dates and times, seek feedback, and ask for referrals.
  • Take ownership to achieve exceptional results on individual and team goals.
  • Present, celebrate, and educate patients at the time of dispense.
  • Maintain a clean, attractive, and organized dispensary appearance, securing and protecting company assets.
  • Effectively collaborate with doctors and practice staff to ensure high-level partnership for patient care.
  • Inform management of safety opportunities and demonstrate safe work practices.
  • Possess a 'can-do' spirit and strong drive for results, with a desire for continual learning and improvement.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, including discounting, promotions, and inventory management.
  • Work weekends and evenings in support of business needs (varies by location).
  • Adhere to attendance and daily time-keeping requirements, all company policies, and procedures.
  • Foster positive working relationships with the practice, communicating concerns promptly to the Manager.
  • Consistently maintain proper dress code.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Manager or as business needs dictate.

Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Active state optical licensure; must maintain license.
  • Strong customer service skills: communicator, listener, and team builder.
  • Strong basic math skills.
  • Sales skills.
  • Embraces new technology and change.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with technology, such as point-of-sale, patient record systems, and other software applications.

Compensation and Benefits:

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills, and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, you may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan, which complements a first-class total rewards package.
