About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Civil Litigation Attorney to join our team at the Kentucky Personnel Cabinet. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for defending challenges to state statutes under both federal and state constitutions, as well as defending claims against state judges, prosecutors, agencies, and employees arising out of the performance of their respective government functions, in both state and federal trial courts.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Office in all phases of litigated cases from inception to resolution, including investigation, pleadings, discovery, pre-trial, trial, settlement, and appeal.
  • Be an integral part of developing and implementing effective case strategies in collaboration with other team members.

Requirements:

  • Have a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Have strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Be admitted to the Kentucky bar or eligible to seek admission to the Kentucky bar by examination or motion.

We Offer:

  • A competitive salary range of $75,000 - $Annually.
  • A full-time position with executive branch employment.
