Job Summary:

The Host is responsible for greeting and seating guests, managing reservations, and ensuring a welcoming and efficient dining environment. This role requires excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Guest Reception:
    • Greet guests warmly as they enter the restaurant.
    • Manage the waiting list and notify guests when their table is ready.
    • Escort guests to their tables and provide menus.
  2. Reservation Management:
    • Take and manage reservations via phone, online platforms, or in-person.
    • Coordinate with the kitchen and servers to ensure timely seating for reserved tables.
  3. Table Management:
    • Maintain an organized seating chart and update it as needed.
    • Monitor the dining area to ensure tables are cleaned and reset quickly.
  4. Customer Service:
    • Address guest inquiries and concerns in a polite and professional manner.
    • Provide information about the menu, specials, and restaurant policies.
  5. Communication:
    • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, servers, and management to ensure smooth operations.
    • Relay special requests or concerns from guests to appropriate staff members.
  6. Administrative Duties:
    • Answer phone calls and handle basic inquiries.
    • Keep track of guest preferences and feedback.
  7. Health and Safety Compliance:
    • Ensure that the dining area is clean and compliant with health and safety regulations.
    • Adhere to all restaurant policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Experience:
    • Previous experience as a hostess or in a customer service role is preferred but not required.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to handle high-pressure situations with a calm demeanor.
    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Appearance:
    • Professional appearance with a neat and clean uniform.
  • Availability:
    • Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry light objects.
