Job Summary:
The Host is responsible for greeting and seating guests, managing reservations, and ensuring a welcoming and efficient dining environment. This role requires excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Guest Reception:
- Greet guests warmly as they enter the restaurant.
- Manage the waiting list and notify guests when their table is ready.
- Escort guests to their tables and provide menus.
- Reservation Management:
- Take and manage reservations via phone, online platforms, or in-person.
- Coordinate with the kitchen and servers to ensure timely seating for reserved tables.
- Table Management:
- Maintain an organized seating chart and update it as needed.
- Monitor the dining area to ensure tables are cleaned and reset quickly.
- Customer Service:
- Address guest inquiries and concerns in a polite and professional manner.
- Provide information about the menu, specials, and restaurant policies.
- Communication:
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, servers, and management to ensure smooth operations.
- Relay special requests or concerns from guests to appropriate staff members.
- Administrative Duties:
- Answer phone calls and handle basic inquiries.
- Keep track of guest preferences and feedback.
- Health and Safety Compliance:
- Ensure that the dining area is clean and compliant with health and safety regulations.
- Adhere to all restaurant policies and procedures.
- Experience:
- Previous experience as a hostess or in a customer service role is preferred but not required.
- Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations with a calm demeanor.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Appearance:
- Professional appearance with a neat and clean uniform.
- Availability:
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
