Job Title: Radiology Technologist

Reports To: Health Center Administrator

Job Summary: This position performs routine administrative tasks and radiologic procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily warm-up of digital x-ray equipment and DEXA scanner.
  • Prepare and instruct patients to undergo radiologic procedures.
  • Adjust and operate radiologic equipment and ensure processing of digital radiographs.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of radiologic testing.
  • Prepare and distribute digital radiographs and interpretative reports to ordering providers.
  • Assist providers in understanding and evaluating images.
  • Perform other administrative tasks as needed or requested.

Requirements:

  • Associate of Science degree (AAS)
  • Certified as a radiology technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Current Arizona State License as a Radiology Technologist
  • CPR certification required
  • Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as radiology technologist or related field strongly preferred

Language Skills:

  • Ability to accurately comprehend and compose instructions, correspondence, and communications in English in both oral and written format
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations

Work Environment & Conditions:

  • Work environment is typical of a health clinic setting with occasional exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, and hazardous chemicals
  • Work frequently involves use of medical equipment with proximity to electrical current, and exposure to moving mechanical parts and some hazardous chemicals and radiation hazards
  • Work frequently requires the use of personal protective equipment to include lead aprons, gloves and other shielding devices
  • Work occasionally requires extended hours to include early mornings, evenings, and weekends
