Position Overview: The Steel Tank Construction Specialist plays a crucial role in the on-site assembly of bolted steel tank systems. This position requires proficiency in safe construction practices and the use of various hand and power tools, ensuring adherence to the highest quality standards for a superior tank product. This role involves extensive travel, working 6 to 7 days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate as part of a field construction team consisting of 3-7 members.
- Receive hourly compensation along with comprehensive benefits.
- Enjoy a daily Per Diem of $59; accommodations provided by the company.
- Provide and wear steel-toed footwear.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and site protocols.
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Utilize an array of hand and power tools, fixtures, and instructions to accurately assemble bolted tank systems.
- Interpret and follow assembly blueprints and specifications.
- Assist in the handling and movement of assembly materials, including steel sheets and fasteners.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following established safety procedures.
- Comply with production methods and guidelines in line with ISO 9001 standards.
- Travel extensively with the field crew as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience with geodesic domes and bolted tank assembly is advantageous.
- Ability to operate forklifts, man-lifts, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Proficient in using various power and hand tools.
- Willingness to work at heights and within tanks.
- Capability to perform elevated work safely and confidently up to 150 feet while secured with a harness.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and sketches.
- Basic mathematical skills for calculations.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments and hand tools such as tape measures and levels.
- Effective communication skills for receiving instructions from the Crew Foreman.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail to ensure high-quality work.
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
- Willingness to work additional hours to meet project deadlines.
- Availability for 100% travel with the field crew.
Educational Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Must obtain MSHA training certification within the first month of employment.
- Must complete OSHA-10 hour training within the first month, provided by the company.
- Possession of a valid U.S. driver's license.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Passport.
- Must pass background checks and drug screenings as required.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands for handling tools and materials.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color vision, and depth perception.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions and moderate noise levels.
