Job Description

We are seeking an experienced SUPERINTENDENT to oversee on-site administration and technical management for various construction projects.

This role involves developing project pre-plans, coordinating project start-up activities, and ensuring subcontractors adhere to schedule timelines.

The successful candidate will lead junior superintendents and field staff in effectively managing and monitoring subcontractor and craft workforce activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop thoughtful project pre-plans, including CPM schedules, work sequences, manpower utilization, material handling, storage requirements, and equipment use.
  • Plan, lead, and coordinate project start-up activities, including formulating project objectives, policies, procedures, site mobilization, and performance standards.
  • Maintain accurate project schedules, prepare monthly updates, and ensure subcontractors adhere to schedule timelines.
  • Lead junior superintendents and field staff in effectively managing and monitoring subcontractor and craft workforce activities.
  • Implement quality assurance procedures, conduct daily site inspections, and verify work is done according to plans, contract specifications, and schedule.
  • Evaluate and enforce safety programs, conduct daily safety inspections, and maintain a safe work environment in accordance with OSHA regulations.
  • Coordinate subcontractor assignments, scopes of work, and monitor work performance to ensure project execution within budget and schedule.
  • Communicate potential problems or conflicts to senior management, assist in resolving issues, and provide support to contractors.
  • Interface with owners, architects, engineers, design professionals, and municipalities to ensure compliance with design intent and owner satisfaction.
  • Manage document and record keeping requirements, ensuring accuracy in daily diaries, reports, and logs, as well as legal, safety, and manpower documentation.
  • Provide liaison services between project management and specialty contractors to ensure construction complies with plans, specifications, and company quality standards.
  • Oversee job close-out processes, administer punch-lists, assemble close-out documents, perform building commissioning, and conduct owner training.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Extensive experience and knowledge of construction, design, and management required, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
  • Preferred education: 2 or 4-year construction degree or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical skills, effective communication, and interpersonal skills essential.
  • Comprehensive understanding of safety regulations and loss control measures required.
Working Conditions

The position involves regular work inside a climate-controlled trailer and occasional outdoor work. Exposure to ongoing construction and varying weather conditions may be present, with moderate to loud noise levels possible.
