Job Responsibilities

The Lead Medical Technologist will play a crucial role in diagnosing diseases and providing essential data to assist healthcare providers in determining appropriate treatment plans. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting tests across various laboratory disciplines, including clinical chemistry, hematology, transfusion services, clinical immunology, clinical microbiology, serology, and molecular diagnostics.
  • Ensuring accurate specimen handling, including matching computer orders with specimen labels, sorting, logging, and arranging reports for delivery.
  • Maintaining high-quality results through equipment calibration, troubleshooting, and adherence to quality control protocols.
  • Participating in staff training and educational initiatives, while communicating any abnormal patient conditions to relevant authorities.
  • Upholding a safe laboratory environment by following established protocols and legal regulations.
  • Protecting patient confidentiality by maintaining the privacy of laboratory information.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field.
  • MLS(ASCP) certification or equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience in a laboratory setting.
