Holiday Requirements: The Physicist is responsible for providing physics support within the Radiation Oncology department. This role includes ensuring quality assurance for all treatment and planning devices utilized in the department.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in a Related Field
- Registered Therapeutic Radiation Physicist in Illinois within 6 months
- Certification in Therapeutic Radiology Physics (ABR) or The American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP)
If not certified at the time of hire, candidates must be actively pursuing certification with appropriate progress based on experience.
The Physicist will conduct radiation measurements on accelerators and analyze the collected data. Responsibilities also include performing radiation therapy treatment planning and executing quality assurance procedures on all medical radiation devices, along with conducting radiation safety surveys that meet ACR certification standards.
