Job Summary

Generations Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Rehabilitation to lead our therapy services team at Anberry Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality rehabilitation services to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Directly supervise and guide all therapy personnel, including licensed therapists, assistants, and aides.
  • Develop and implement daily scheduling for the department staff to meet the needs of the facility.
  • Provide direct care and work with the supervisor to determine appropriate caseloads in tandem with management responsibilities.
  • Ensure that the rehabilitation needs of residents are met and that therapy services are delivered in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Review and update therapy services to meet the changing needs of the facility and its residents.
  • Adhere to all regulatory standards and ensure that clinical documentation is complete, timely, and accurately reflects the services provided.
  • Coordinate denials management activities and ensure that claims are timely and/or appeals are timely and in accordance with company procedure.
  • Meet and/or exceed productivity standards as established with the supervisor.
  • Ensure that services delivered are of the highest quality and meet all standards of practice.
  • Implement new treatment programs and monitor treatment programs for outcomes and adjust plans of care accordingly.
  • Ensure that the department follows established policies and procedures of the facility and the company.
  • Approve time cards and time worked by department personnel.
Associated Responsibilities
  • Provide evaluation input on department employees and participate in relationship building with local hospitals and referral sites.
  • Attend and participate in facility and company meetings as agreed to with the facility and approved by the supervisor.
  • Consistently in-service all staff regarding safe work practices with emphasis on good body mechanics, safety, and judgment to minimize work-related injuries.
  • Organize rehabilitation orientation for new department personnel and ensure all paperwork is completed timely and distributed to the appropriate human resources personnel.
  • Complete billing documentation timely and accurately reflecting services provided in accordance with company standards.
  • Provide recommendations to the supervisor on opportunities to improve company and services provided.
  • Identify own areas of need for development, training, and continuing education in conjunction with the supervisor.
  • Identify potential leaders in the company as matched with specific job requirements.
  • Identify new sources of business and contacts.
  • Promote a positive attitude to staff, within staff, and to the community regarding the company, its mission statement, philosophies, and goals.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Must have an active CA Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist license (no PTA or COTA's for this position).
  • Must be able to practice unencumbered.
  • Must be in good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boards.
  • Possesses a minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience as a therapist.
  • Working knowledge of Medicare and other payor sources.
  • Full knowledge of resident's rights.
  • Exudes professionalism in presentation.
  • Able to work on multitasks at the same time.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in the English language.
