About the Role

At GE Appliances, we're seeking a skilled Appliance Service Technician to join our team. As a key member of our service team, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional in-home appliance repair services to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough diagnoses and repairs of major appliances in customers' homes
  • Promote and sell GE Appliances service contracts, water filters, and other products
  • Operate assigned service vans to repair locations
  • Record all activities related to repairs, routes, and other tasks
  • Attend training sessions, meetings, and events to stay up-to-date on repair techniques and industry developments
  • Manage maintenance and stock inventory of assigned service vans
  • Deliver high-quality service and meet productivity and efficiency goals
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • 1+ years of experience in appliance repair, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, or property maintenance
  • Ability to diagnose and repair major appliances
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule with some Saturdays as needed
  • Valid state driver's license and successful completion of background check, physical, and drug screen
  • CFC Certification within 6 months
  • Ability to perform essential functions of the position, including lifting, bending, and working in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • 6+ months of experience in Refrigeration repair
  • CFC Certified
  • Certification in appliance repair or Associates' degree
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and other service information
