Jailer Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Jailer Supervisor to join our team at the City of DeSoto, TX. As a key member of our correctional facility, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the jail, ensuring the safety and security of inmates, and maintaining a high level of professionalism and integrity.

• Supervise Inmate Holding Operations: Oversee the booking, searching, controlling, and releasing of inmates, ensuring that all procedures are followed and that the facility is maintained in a clean and secure manner.
• Ensure Inmate Safety and Security: Conduct regular checks and prisoner counts to ensure that inmates are safe and secure, and that any incidents or issues are promptly addressed.
• Process Inmate Information: Complete searches, conduct inventories, confiscate personal property, and record personal and medical information, including fingerprinting and photographing.
• Escort and Transport Inmates: Escort prisoners from cells, handcuff inmates, and transport them to and from the facility.
• Prepare and Serve Food: Prepare and serve meals to inmates, ensuring that all food is handled and served in a safe and sanitary manner.
• Process Paperwork and Information: Review requests, release information, report incidents, and disseminate relevant information to authorized personnel.

• High School Graduation or Equivalent: A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position.
• Experience and Certification: Six months of experience in a correctional facility or related field is preferred, and TCOLE Jailer certification is also preferred, or the ability to obtain within six months.
