McLane Driver Trainee

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Driver Trainee to join our team at McLane Company, Inc.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn the essential functions of a Driver role, including accurate and timely product distribution to customer locations.
This is an excellent chance for individuals who are eager to start their career in the transportation industry and work towards becoming a McLane Driver.
About the RoleAs a Driver Trainee, you will work closely with a Driver Trainer to acquire the necessary skills to perform various tasks, such as:
- Inspecting tractor-trailer equipment for defects and submitting DOT inspection reports.
- Operating trucks safely and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Maintaining driver logs according to DOT regulations.
- Providing exceptional customer service, including on-time delivery of undamaged products.
You will also have the opportunity to gain knowledge of commercial driving regulations, observe experienced drivers, and develop your skills in starting engines, approaching intersections, making turns, backing, parking, and maneuvering vehicles on the road and customer premises.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A valid Class A CDL.
- Be at least 21 years old.
- Meet eligibility requirements outlined in the McLane Transfer and Promotion Policy.

- A starting pay rate of $29.25 while in training.
- A potential salary of $85,000 to $95,000 once training is completed.

As a Driver Trainee, you can expect to work in a fast-paced environment with moderate noise levels, vibrations from vehicles, and extreme weather conditions depending on the climate.
