The Staff Physical Therapist, reporting to the Manager, provides direct and indirect patient care services. This role works primarily with adult and geriatric patients from diverse backgrounds, although pediatric and adolescent patients may also be treated. Under general direction, the Physical Therapist II plans and administers a range of physical therapy services for patients with various physical and cognitive impairments and disabilities. Services include patient evaluations, establishment of therapeutic goals, and implementation of therapeutic plans using physical therapy modalities and procedures. The Staff Physical Therapist maintains patient records and may supervise support personnel, including Physical Therapist Assistants and Rehabilitation Aides.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and administer physical therapy services for patients with various impairments and disabilities
- Evaluate patients using physical therapy tests and measurements
- Establish therapeutic goals and develop intervention programs
- Implement therapeutic plans using physical therapy modalities and procedures
- Maintain patient records and supervise support personnel
- Minimum of 12 months outpatient experience as a licensed therapist
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
- Ability to recognize signs of distress
- Possession of or proven eligibility for CPR certification
- Basic computer skills in word processing and online communication
- Possession of good interpersonal, time management, problem-solving, and self-initiation skills
- Prior 3-5 years physical therapy experience in an academic medical center environment
- Prior experience working on an interdisciplinary health provider team
- Possession of an advanced degree or certificate in Physical Therapy from an accredited professional educational program
- EMR documentation experience
- Board certification from the APTA in an area of Physical Therapy Specialty
