Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Operating Room - Cardiovascular department at Ascension Alexian Brothers Hospital in Elk Grove Village, IL.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality patient care in the operative setting, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures.
  • Perform scrub functions, including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies, to maintain a sterile environment.
  • Assist the operating physician with surgical tasks, such as hemostasis, suturing, and wound exposure, while ensuring patient positioning is optimal.
  • Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use, adhering to strict protocols and guidelines.
Requirements
  • BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month of hire date required.
  • Registered Nurse licensure from the Illinois Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date required.
  • Diploma from an accredited school of nursing or required professional licensure at time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of varied OR experience, with a focus on scrubbing.
