The Hotel Operations Manager, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the Front Office, Housekeeping, and Food and Beverage Departments, provides exceptional service to guests, controls costs, and maximizes revenue. This is a hands-on management position that assists the General Manager with the day-to-day operations of the hotel.
Key Responsibilities:- Guest Service: Approach all encounters with guests and team members in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
- Department Management: Have knowledge and understanding of department policies and procedures, and communicate and enforce all policies fairly and consistently with staff.
- Revenue Management: Maximize room revenue and occupancy by reviewing status daily.
- Team Development: Motivate, coach, counsel, and discipline all team members, develop team member morale, and ensure all team members are fully trained.
- Human Resources: Be familiar with Human Resources policies and procedures, I-9s and E-Verify, proper documentation, Workers' Compensation, training, etc.
- Payroll and Accounting: Assist with or process payroll and ensure no-show revenue is maximized through consistent and accurate billing.
- Education: Associate's or Four Year College Degree is preferred.
- Experience: Two years front office management experience in a hotel preferred.
- Skills: Proficient with hotel sales, revenue management, and A/R billing, previous supervisory experience in a hotel required.
- Personal Qualities: Must have a valid driver's license from the applicable state, must be able to work mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as dictated by hotel business levels, must be able to convey information and ideas clearly, both oral and written, must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure, and must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions.
