About the Role
Planned Parenthood California Central Coast (PPCCC) is a trusted provider of high-quality, affordable reproductive health care along California's Central Coast. We are seeking a skilled Facilities and Security Specialist to join our team.
Job Summary
The Facilities and Security Specialist will be responsible for ensuring all facilities and buildings are in good condition. This includes general maintenance, repair, and modification of all PPCCC locations, including HVAC, plumbing, lighting & electrical systems and equipment and machinery such as generators, elevators, and vacuum systems. Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for the exterior landscaping and grounds maintenance and overall facility appearance.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and repair of buildings and equipment for all PPCCC locations.
- Coordinate outside vendors/contractors in the performance of maintenance work, including construction, remodeling, repair work, contract cleaning service, and preventative maintenance vendors.
- Assist with overseeing the acquisition, installation, maintenance, installation of building equipment, and disposition of furniture and equipment, as needed.
- Oversee grounds maintenance functions at all locations.
- Support administrative day-to-day operations, including employee notification system, access control, camera systems, alarm codes, and parking.
- Assist with providing alarm and employee call response.
- Assist in after-hour emergencies and affiliate events, as needed.
- Act as a point person for all PPCCC security issues.
Requirements
- Associate degree in a related field or 2 years of facility and/or security work experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) and web conferencing.
- English-Spanish bilingual skills desirable.
- Mission-driven, non-profit organization experience desirable.
- Accuracy and attention to detail are essential.
- Availability to work flexible hours.
- Excellent customer service skills and commitment to providing the highest level of internal and external customer satisfaction.
- Candidate must travel within PPCCC geographic area (Thousand Oaks to San Luis Obispo) when needed.
- Must have reliable transportation, a valid California driver's license, and appropriate insurance. Driver license record will be reviewed.
Compensation
The starting salary for this position is $28.90/hr with the opportunity for advancement. As part of our commitment to pay equity, PPCCC does not negotiate salaries. A $1.00/hr bilingual Spanish/English differential pay is offered upon passing the language assessment test.
