Job Overview

Position: Special Education Program Manager

Compensation: $55 to $60 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 to 40 hours per week

Work Location: Twin Cities, Minneapolis–Saint Paul MN

Focused Staffing Group is seeking a qualified Special Education Program Manager to become an integral part of our organization. This role involves overseeing and coordinating all facets of special education services. You will collaborate closely with the administrative team and the director of special education to ensure that our special education initiatives are effective, compliant, and well-managed.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement program strategies and objectives.
  2. Ensure adherence to State and Federal regulations.
  3. Assist in formulating and executing program goals and protocols.
  4. Lead the selection and application of evidence-based instructional methods for students with disabilities.
  5. Oversee special education staffing to guarantee timely completion of IEPs and adherence to procedural timelines.
  6. Coordinate and perform initial evaluations for special education eligibility.
  7. Maintain a comprehensive student information database and manage special education documentation processes.
  8. Provide mentorship to new special education educators regarding compliance and due process.
  9. Organize and lead departmental meetings.
  10. Support the MTSS team with referrals, interventions, and the prereferral process.
  11. Coordinate the Special Education Extended School Year program and related documentation.
  12. Perform additional duties as required.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with students, staff, parents, and community stakeholders.
  2. Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with diverse groups.
  3. Proficient in managing multiple projects concurrently.
  4. Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
  5. Capability to make informed decisions in alignment with district policies and program guidelines.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  1. Master's Degree in Special Education or a related field.
  2. A minimum of five years of successful experience in special education teaching.
  3. Preferred licensure as a Director of Special Education.

Relocation Requirement:

  • Must be willing to relocate to Minneapolis-Saint Paul, MN prior to employment.
