Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Survey Crew Chief to join our team at PEA Group. As a key member of our survey team, you will be responsible for conducting precise measurements to determine property boundaries and providing critical data for engineering and construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform field work related to boundary surveys, construction layout, topographic mapping, and other types of surveys.
  • Operate and adjust survey instruments, including GPS, robotic total stations, and electronic measuring devices.
  • Perform mathematical calculations and read/understand survey map data and construction plans.
  • Take accurate and legible survey notes and perform simple note reduction and checking.
Requirements
  • High school education or equivalent, with a background in math, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • 5 years of experience operating survey instruments and collecting information in the field and performing field computations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of principles of survey measurement, staking, and marking.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Competencies and Personal Attributes
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify sources of measurement errors.
  • Ability to work in inclement weather and travel to various locations.
  • Strong work ethic and team-player attitude.
Physical Demands

The physical demands of this role include working outdoors in various weather conditions, walking long distances, and standing for extended periods while taking measurements.

Availability

This is a full-time position with a standard Monday-Friday schedule, with overtime and weekend work as required.
