Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at Advocate Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of radiologic procedures, including general diagnostic, general fluoroscopy, and c-arm procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procedure Performance: Competently perform radiologic procedures, ensuring accurate and high-quality images.
  • Patient Communication: Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, and address any questions or concerns.
  • Image Quality Control: Identify patient and label images, compare requisitions to physician's orders, and process images to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Collaboration and Consultation: Assist and communicate with physicians, work independently, and serve as a technical resource for students and staff.
  • Record Keeping and Documentation: Prepare and maintain records, enter patient and study information into the radiology information system, and document billing codes.
Requirements
  • Licensure and Certification: Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin, Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), and Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Education and Experience: Advanced training beyond High School in Radiologic Technology, with no experience required.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Competent in radiology positioning and techniques, knowledge of radiation safety, anatomy, and radiology equipment, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and intermediate computer skills.
Working Conditions
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday.
  • Environmental Factors: May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards, as well as blood and body fluids.
