Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Patent Analyst to join our team at Clarivate. As a technical expert, you will play a critical role in researching and analyzing cutting-edge technologies.

Job Description

In this remote independent contractor role, you will work as a 1099 consultant supporting our contract with the US Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO). Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Performing comprehensive searches to locate relevant prior art
  • Preparing written opinions applying the most relevant prior art to the disclosure
  • Maintaining proficiency with commercial patent searching databases and other proprietary databases of technical publications
  • Staying abreast of best practices and changes to search procedures via self-directed review of materials provided by Clarivate

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in an appropriate technology or subject area
  • Previous work experience in industry or advanced research in a related field
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to complete projects against deadlines

About You

We value candidates who have:

  • Highly developed search methodologies and strong analytical skills
  • Experience with Orbit, PatBase, Google Scholar, or PatSeer
  • Expertise in technical literature to support related fields such as biotechnology, chemistry, life sciences, business methods, physical sciences, computing, mechanical engineering, and electrical communications
