Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cook II to join our team at Harrah's Ak-Chin Casino. As a Cook II, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food items for our guests in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook a variety of food items, including hot and cold dishes, soups, and salads.
  • Rotate between all cooking stations, ensuring that each order is uniform and consistent.
  • Control food production, including proper cooking methods, cooking time and temperature, and sanitation procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, including all equipment and cooling units.
  • Work effectively in a team environment, communicating with colleagues to ensure seamless service.
  • Meet attendance guidelines and adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a high-volume, quality food establishment or equivalent technical training in the food industry.
  • Culinary school experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of kitchen sanitation and operation, as well as general maintenance of kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to cook using industry-standard techniques, procedures, and equipment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with colleagues.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and push/pull up to 125 pounds in a cart.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Work Environment

The physical demands of this role include:

  • Ability to maneuver to all areas of the kitchen.
  • Ability to tolerate areas with high or low temperatures.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to push and pull up to 125 pounds in a cart.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, crouch, kneel, push, and pull.
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment, including stoves, grills, fryers, and other utensils.
