Job Summary

UCHealth is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in providing high-quality care to patients with wounds and ostomies. As a Wound Ostomy Nurse, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized patient care plans based on patient assessment and needs.
  • Monitor and record patient condition, communicating effectively with healthcare team members as needed.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Educate patients and families on wound and ostomy care, promoting self-management and independence.
  • Delegate patient care to ancillary personnel, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program.
  • State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification.
  • Preferred: Certification as a Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (WOCN) by the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB).
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.
