JOB SUMMARY:


This role is responsible for overseeing shift production and support operations, managing Supervisors and production personnel, utilizing expertise in products, production methodologies, and regulatory standards to achieve optimal quality and operational effectiveness.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct and coordinate all aspects of shift production, addressing daily challenges effectively.
- Ensure product quality, efficiency, and safety throughout the production shift. Implement corrective actions for discrepancies and communicate them to management.
- Supervise subordinate Production Supervisors and staff under the guidance of management.
- Manage production, labor, financial, and other resources to ensure operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with Planning, Quality Assurance, Distribution, and other departments to ensure product quality and timely processes.
- Coordinate with Maintenance to resolve equipment issues, safety concerns, and facility repairs.
- Work collaboratively with regulatory agencies to address issues as they arise.
- Oversee product quality and safety concerns in partnership with Quality Assurance. Supervise HACCP and prerequisite program implementation.
- Ensure proper training and certification of new and existing staff regarding operational, regulatory, and safety guidelines.
- Partner with Human Resources to resolve employee relations and disciplinary matters.
- Support health and safety policies and hygiene practices in line with company standards.
- Perform additional duties as necessary.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:


Knowledge of food manufacturing processes, particularly in the processed foods sector, including familiarity with regulatory guidelines and company policies.

Strong communication skills are essential.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Understanding of processes utilized in food production facilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Capability to assess and prioritize departmental needs.
- Proficient in directing production and managing large teams.
- Effective communication skills with diverse individuals and conflict resolution abilities.
- Proficient in computer applications, including word processing and spreadsheets.
- Ability to compile, interpret, and analyze production reports and data.


These skills are typically acquired through progressive experience in the food processing industry.

Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is preferred. Strong problem-solving skills are required.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
The majority of the role involves working in a cold, occasionally wet environment. Responsibilities include standing, lifting, moving, climbing, and operating heavy machinery. Exposure to harsh chemicals or sharp objects may occur.
